This part of India, Karnataka, has been suffering from a drought for many years. The monsoons of the past years, never brought enough water to last throughout the year. But this year has been different, especially the month of September made up for the lacking of rainfall over the June/July period. Specialist are cautiously positive that by the end of October the whole state will have had enough water to officially end the period of drought.
It is funny to notice how people are used to certain patterns, even weather patterns. The rains should stop this week, so last week our gardener tells me they will come prune my trees "next week, after the rains". Like he knew it would have stopped by now... Unfortunately he was mistaken. But I'm also ready for these rains to end. Having breakfast in the sun is my all time favorite and it's just around the corner!
